Abstract

Our educational transformations demand professional and humanistic training of graduates from university education with sufficient level of English language communicative competence. The background research has as objective the preparation of the diploma course “Communicative Competence in English in the Physical Culture Context” for the professors from Mayabeque´s Physical Culture Faculty, considering their insufficient communicative competence in English language in order to face specific professional performance fields and the importance given to this aspect according to performance, research activity, and teaching process. The theoretical methods used were analysis and synthesis, logical-historical, inductive-deductive. The survey, Interview, the documental review and source triangulation were the empirical methods used. The course is aimed at developing the communicative competence in English language linked to a specific communication level within the physical activity context, strengthening the professional profile in the fourth spheres, as well as in the academic, scientific, investigative, and teaching improving. Also, Solutions to problems concerning English opposition exams are achieved since it permits our professionals to face them with coherence and cognitive independence. This diploma course can influence the readjustment of the English teaching process and provide the professionals with knowledge and skills concerning English language in the Physical Culture context improving professional performance.
